Bolivian Fair *** Jarmark po boliwijsku

Wrzesień to miesiąc, w którym departament Santa Cruz obchodzi swoja rocznice (24 IX).

September is the month in which the Department of Santa Cruz celebrates its anniversary (24th). During this time, numerous festivals, ‘ferias’ and the biggest ‘Expo’ in Bolivia are held in the city, and the surrounding areas. We had a taste of the local folklore at Feria de la Cultura y el Arte Popular in Parque Urbano, located just few blocks from our condominium.

And wat wasn’t there! There was an amusement park for children, stalls with arts and crafts, ‘fast food’ on bicycles, concert of traditional music. And besides this, thousands of people walking in the park, playing the ball, riding the bicycles and ‘park’ bumper cars, photographing with the big Caribbean boat, in the jungle or with the big llama teddy, selling and buying this and that, ‘weighing’ for a small fee, or just resting on the grass (among garbage).

Przyznam, park ten stal się naszym ulubionym miejscem przechadzek – można tam odetchnąć świeżym powietrzem (szczególnie późnym popołudniem, gdy upal lzeje), rozprostować kości, poobserwować ludzi, nacieszyć się uroczymi szczeniakami, zachwycić się największym ‘fikusem’ na świecie i kolcami drzewa toborochi. A wszystko to ‘za friko’:)

I admit, this park has become our favorite place for walks, where we can breathe fresh air (especially in late afternoon, when it’s cooler), stretch our legs, watch the people, enjoy the lovely puppies, admire the largest ‘Ficus’ in the world and spiked toborochi trees. And all for free:)DSCN1157
