‘Munasquechay’ – Bolivian Love Song *** Boliwijska Oda do Milosci

_MG_6347

Munasquechay is my favourite song of Los Kjarkas. The first half of the lyrics is sung in Quechua, the second half in Spanish. I’ve posted a video, some time ago, that you can find on the left side of this page. It will give you a good sense of the traditional instrumentation used by the band, as well as a brief look at culture of Bolivia’s indigenous people.

Here are the original lyrics of this beautiful Love Song and translation.

Munasquechay
tuta punchay maskakunay
tarispa suscucunay warmisitay

Qanraykullay ña karin viday
sonqo kullay sipasitay
qanraykullay ña karin viday
sonqo kullay sipasitay

Mi buen amor,
mi herida de amor, mi verdad,
mi credo, razón de vivir,
mi lluvia de abril.

Gracias a ti, mi triste vivir
pudo cambiar en un jardín.

PL

Moja droga miłości,
moja raniaca miłości, moja prawdo,
moje credo, powod do życia,
Mój deszczu kwietniowy.

Dzięki Tobie, moje smutne życie
może zmienić się w ogrod.

EN

My dear love,
my wounding love, my truth,
my creed, reason to live,
My April rain.

Thanks to you, my sad life
could change into a garden.
