Po pol godzinie, kiedy woda zaczela zalewac chodnik i jakby sie przejasnialo, postanowilam pobiec do domu – w koncu ile mozna czekac? A kiedy dotarlam do domu, przestalo.

So, Bolivia supposed to be in dry season now, but we’re having today quite a storm in Santa Cruz! As my taxi didn’t come because of rainfall, I ended up walking to my appointment 10 min. away in the filthy river knees high. Thankfully, I did not get totally soaked as I put a cheap plastic poncho on. I also learnt from my previous torrential storm experience, that flip-flops and shorts are the best outfit for that kind of weather:)

Yeap, I was caught in the middle of the storm like that some time ago, while walking home from the bakery. That time, I decided to wait for the rain to stop, finding a shelter under the porch. After half an hour of waiting when the sky got a bit brighter and the water already flooded the pavement, I decided to run home. Of course, it started to rain heavier once I was out in the open, but when I got home, it stopped.

Other time, I was literally 3 minutes from our apartment, when it started lashing. I looked at the street changing into river and then at my new shoes, and decided to catch taxi home:) I took some pictures back then, to show you how the city of Santa Cruz looks like during (almost every) rain, but I lost the cable to my phone and I couldn’t get them out.

Today, I wasn’t even thinking of documenting my adventure as I was holding a plastic bag with some documents, hoping that they won’t get wet. But there is a chance that I might be on Youtube soon, as I saw one person filming my struggling with the elements with her phone:)
